This is a function that allows members to collaborate in editing files.

Features

When using DiskManager, double-clicking a file on InternetDisk ASP starts the associated application and you can then edit the file.
The editing result can be reflected in InternetDisk ASP by a simple operation.
While editing, edit lock is applied to the file so that other members won�t edit the file simultaneously. This enables the consistency of the file to be maintained throughout the editing.

Flow of Steps during Usage

[Start Collaboration]
To make a file into a file for collaborative editing, it is necessary to execute Start Collaboration.
Collaboration File
All members with read/write authority can then edit the file.
(Collaboration can be performed as many times as desired upon a file in this state.)

To lock the content of a collaboration file, or to delete an unnecessary collaboration file, execute Fix Collaboration or Finish Collaboration.

[Fix Collaboration]
When Collaboration is complete, fix the file.
Fixed File
This protects the fixed file by prohibiting editing, deleting and overwriting the file.
[Finish Collaboration]
When the collaboration work is finished completely, restore the file to its regular state again.

When DiskManager is started while the Collaboration option has been requested, commands related to Collaboration appear in the tool box. Use these buttons to operate this function.

1.Start Collaboration

Select an uploaded file and then select [Start].
Members can be notified of this [Start] by e-mail. (Specify "Members" or "Message".)

2.Edit Collaboration File

Files with a pencil icon can be edited by all members with write/read authority.
Pressing the [Edit] button in the tool box or double-clicking the name of a desired file will automatically download the file and start the application, and editing of the file is then enabled.

When saving the edited data and quitting the application, reply [Yes] to the confirmation message which appears. Files updated by other members are indicated by a "+" symbol, making it easy to identify updated files.
When and by whom files have been updated can be found out using the [History] button.

3.Fix Collaboration

The [Fix] button in the tool box is enabled for the member who has started the collaboration of a file so as to fix the collaboration file.

4.Finish Collaboration

To restore a collaborated file to its regular state, execute [Finish].

By restoring a file to its regular state, the file can be deleted, overwritten and/or uploaded.
[Finish] can only be performed to "fixed files," and files in the collaboration state cannot be finished yet.
When [Finish] is executed, all history is deleted.

This function is an optional function. To use this function, it is necessary to sign up for the Collaboration function by the member administrator.
To use this function, DiskManager is required. This function cannot be used in Web View (browser).
The types of files that can be edited with the Collaboration Function depend on applications installed in the environment where DiskManager is used. We do not guarantee the proper operation of each of the individual applications.

[Q.]

A dialog box to confirm the writing that has been done that should appear after collaboration is finished does not appear, and thus the editing results cannot be reviewed.

First, check the operation after editing the collaboration file.

In the applications of JustSystems, a confirmation dialog box appears when an application is ended even if no operation to save a file has been made, and editing results can be reviewed in the collaboration file. In other applications, however, editing results may not be shown if an application is simply ended. Thus, please save the file expressly before ending the application. If editing results still are not shown (a dialog box does not appear), try clicking [Finish] in the tool box of DiskManager.

[Q.]

I wanted to delete a file in the collaboration state, but there was no response when I pressed the [Delete] key.
When I opened the shortcut menu by right-clicking, [Delete] was grayed out and I could not select it. What should I do?

When you display files in DiskManager, files with a pencil mark at the right of the file names are files in the collaboration state, and they cannot be deleted in that state.
A file in the collaboration state can be deleted when the member who started collaboration fixes and finishes the file and restores it to its regular state.

Position the cursor on the file you want to delete in the collaborative editing state, select the [Fix] menu item in the upper part of DiskManager, and then select [Finish].

Both the [Fix] and [Finish] operations can only be executed by the member who started the collaboration.
If any other members try to execute [Fix] and [Finish], these menu items are grayed out and they cannot be selected.

If the member who started the collaboration is unknown, position the cursor on the file you want to delete in the collaboration state, and check the history log by selecting [History].
The member with an orange arrow at the head of his/her name is the member who started the collaboration.

Files for which [Finish] has been executed can be processed the same as regular files, so any members with read/write authority can delete them.
